High: 67°This week marks the start of autumn, and we can think of no better way to celebrate it than the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardener's Common Ground Fair. One of the largest of its kind in North America, Common Ground brings about 60,000 visitors to Central Maine over the course of three days for food, fun, and a little social activism. The fair is a special kind of place: its fried dough is 100% organic whole grain, its midway is filled with folk artisans and peace and justice groups, and the only rides there are the ones you catch on a friendly horse or two. It's a great place to be a canine naturalist--whether you have two legs or four.

That looks like great fun. And I bet, great food. Who wouldnt like fried dough? Really? And the fleece maker? Too cute.
I'm asking mum if we can move to Maine. It looks much more fun there than Melbourne.

Ha Ha! Tell Ari get back to work! What a nice fair. Glad the weather was PERFECT!!
I've never been to the Common Ground fair but I think it would be right up my alley. We've had a couple of frosts since last Thursday, the same day you had your first one.
But was there a Husky Fur tent?? You need to give your Husky buddies a head's up for next year's event. We 'd be happy to help them out.

... and a good time was had by all!
CUTE shuttle bus driver! :) But... who herded all those sheep dogs? They ARE nicely grouped!
Love,
Amber
I go crazy for horses! Do you?

We want a personal fleece-maker! What a great face! Isn't it funny - sad - that the first look at anything ORGANIC is that it is puny, bumpy, odd and inadequate? Those apples look so NORMAL compared to the symmetrical, uniform pile at the grocery store! We know: in a taste-test, REAL apples will win every time!
Wonderful photos! Love the food as art! Looks like fun!
That looks like so much fun. Great food, friends and animals to see..

Good evening Ari.
The festival of autumn is wonderful.
Organic vegetables are naturally abundant.
And, it is a bottle gourd also in Japan with.
It is pretty, and it is also glad to see the red pepper.
There is food with nature about many.
We wish to express our gratitude for the autumn harvest. :D

Wow Ari, you do the most fun things. We like the winter shuttle bus and want to meet the driver.

beautiful pictures! they make you wish you were there!!
Where can I hire the sleepy husky livery this winter? Do they get to sleep on the job like that, or do they get all their zzzs before the snow comes?
We dry out chillies too, and love organic stuff, but so difficult to do all year.
