Wolfy has only seen a little snow, and didn't seem to bothered nor interested in it. But he loves any kind of activities where he can get out, explore, meet other dogs, see prey (better, chase and kill prey), etc.Paul Brookerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03449718597661445561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808550287150936588.post-39062899434667115942007-12-12T20:30:00.000-05:002007-12-12T20:30:00.000-05:00Ari seems like quite the dog! It sounds like she would be full of energy regardless of the season.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808550287150936588.post-60381284575501029732007-12-12T08:35:00.000-05:002007-12-12T08:35:00.000-05:00What an entertaining piece. Doubt it, but at least I have vicarious access to this energetic, fondly-recounted canine experience. You write so beautifully about the old, old relationship between canines and us. You have caused me to think about how dogs instruct people in our right relationship with nature. I look forward to reading your next essays.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808550287150936588.post-77922160863359266542007-12-09T13:40:00.000-05:002007-12-09T13:40:00.000-05:00A delightful account! Kathryn writes with the affection of a dog-lover and the shrewdness of the most observant naturalist—providing a fresh style that both celebrates the companionships forged between humans and pet and also redefines them. Kathryn's connection with Ari reflects a not-so-new ecology—that shared between woman and domesticated animal—but her vivid use of language and sincere storylines add another dimension to such age-old, and timeless, relationships.
